Seed phrase basics
What is a seed phrase, and why is yours so important?
When you create an Arqma Wallet, it generates a 25-word seed phrase — sometimes called a recovery phrase or mnemonic. Those 25 words are a human-readable form of your private key. Anyone who has them can restore your wallet on any device and spend your ARQ; anyone who doesn't, can't.
That's why Arqma Wallet never sends your seed off your device, never stores it in the cloud, and never asks you for it on a website. Treat your seed phrase like cash plus a house key: write it down on paper, keep it offline, and ideally store two copies in two physical locations.
